0300 Infantry... we made it! Veterans Affairs SDVOSB certification

After more than four painful months of paperwork, we just received our Veterans Affairs (VA) Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) certification. The VA is the only federal agency that requires a certification process. In the past, the SDVOSB certification would have felt like a pyrrhic victory... when I received the letter, it reminded me of the embedded Full Metal Jacket scene.

However, if you were not paying attention last year, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that the Veterans Administration must apply the so-called rule of two to all of its procurements.  If the agency finds that there are at least two veteran-owned or service-disabled, veteran-owned-small businesses capable of doing the work, the contract must be set aside.

Additionally, the VA just released the huge VECTOR opportunity that will be awarded primarily to SDVOSBs. Submissions are due in a month.

The confluence of the Kingdomware Technologies Supreme Court decision and VECTOR make the certification great for our business, but more importantly, we are thankful for the opportunity to serve those who serve us - contact us if you would like to partner!
